Jewelry Care
Thanks to its high-resistance properties, caring for stainless steel jewelry is a very simple process and something you won't have to worry about. Even so, follow these tips so you can enjoy the beauty of your jewelry for much longer.
What to do:
- Store your jewelry away from sharp objects and separately to prevent scratching. The best place is in a jewelry organizer or its original packaging.
- Clean accumulated dirt and oil with a soft cloth, preferably microfiber. Accumulated dirt and oil will temporarily dull the appearance of the jewelry if not cleaned properly.
What not to do:
- Avoid direct contact with chemical products (lotions, perfumes, etc.), as these contribute to discoloration. It is advisable to first apply perfume, lotion, makeup or any cosmetic, wait a few minutes, and then put on your jewelry.
- Do not sleep with delicate necklaces or large earrings. Sudden movements during sleep can damage the pieces.
Can I wash my hands and shower with stainless steel jewelry?
Yes, you can, as one of the characteristics of stainless steel is its water resistance. However, like any material, it is not infallible, so you must follow these recommendations:
- After bathing, be sure to remove shower gel and dry the pieces.
- Use a mild or neutral shower gel. Avoid those with strong chemicals.
Can I exercise with my stainless steel jewelry?
Yes, stainless steel is the best option when choosing jewelry to wear during your routines. However, sweat can dull the shine, so you should follow these recommendations:
- After your routine, clean off sweat and dry the jewelry pieces.
- Avoid wearing large necklaces or earrings during exercise, as they may not be the most comfortable during movement. The best option in this case is to go for minimalist designs.
Can I go into the pool or the sea with my stainless steel jewelry?
Only if it is an activity you do occasionally. Pools usually have chlorine and seawater has salt, both of which can affect the gold color of the pieces in the long run.
That said, if it's an activity you only do occasionally, you can wear your pieces without worry by following these recommendations:
- After the activity, clean and dry the jewelry pieces very well.
- Avoid wearing necklaces that could come off when you are submerged. Pay attention to rings, as the volume of your hands in the water decreases, so these can also come off.
Quick cleaning
To clean your stainless steel jewelry, you can use a soft (or microfiber) cloth to remove dust and dirt and restore its shine.
Deep cleaning
The easiest way to clean your stainless steel jewelry is to use a little warm water and soap. Remember to use a mild (or pH-neutral) soap; avoid antibacterial soaps.
Submerge the stainless steel jewelry in a bowl containing a mixture of mild soap and warm water and let them sit for a few minutes.
With a soft (or microfiber) cloth, rub the jewelry. For hard-to-reach areas, such as grooves or engravings, you can use a soft-bristled toothbrush.
Once you have thoroughly cleaned your jewelry, make sure you have dried the piece with another cloth, ensuring no soap or water residue is left.
